Finding Dory will be The Wire Reunion

September 12th, 2014 by Dave Bowling Comments

I don’t think anyone was expecting this.

In an interview with Shortlist magazine this week, Dominic West revealed that he will be working with The Wire co-star Idris Elba again. But this time, their target audience will be a bit… younger.

The two are both lending their voices to Finding Dory, the upcoming sequel to Finding Nemo. West had this to say: “I saw Idris recently. We’re both in the sequel to Finding Nemo, so we were recording that. I’m in pretty regular contact with a lot of guys from The Wire – a lot of them are godparents to my kids, so I love them dearly.”

It’s different, I’ll give them that. The film will also feature the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Diane Keaton, Willem Dafoe and of course Al Brooks, Simpsons guest-star extraordinaire.

Finding Dory is slated for release on 17 June 2015.

Dave was born at an early age to parents of both sexes. He has been a self-confessed geek for as long as he can remember, having been raised through the 80s on a steady diet of Doctor Who, Star Trek, Red Dwarf and (sigh) Knight Rider. Throw the usual assortment of Saturday morning cartoons into the mix and we have something quite exceptional: someone with an encyclopaedic knowledge of utter tosh; a love of giant robots and spaceships fighting; and the strange desire to leap tall buildings in a single bound while wearing his underpants over his trousers. The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
