With yesterday being Star Wars Day, we were sort of hoping we might be rewarded with a bit reveal of some sort…

And we go the announcement of Star Wars Celebration 2017 (here) and while this is big news for the fans, we were sort of hoping for something, well, more…

And, while it’s not exactly ground breaking, we did get this:

han's gun

Yes, Chris Miller, who is co-directing the movie, tweeted this image (embedded below too)… and we love it! He included the words: “Can’t wait to get ‘shooting’!”

The image is of Han’s iconic DL-44 blaster which looks like it may be lying in some sort of Imperial Control Panel.

Of course, it doesn’t help with the casting issues they seem to be having (here) or to explain better to us all when exactly the movie will take place, what the story is or who’s in it.

But it does feel good to see that gun again, doesn’t it? Yeah it does…

Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the Han Solo standalone movie is scheduled to open on May 25, 2018.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
