FIRST LOOK: Images released from Renny Harlin’s The Strangers Trilogy

October 5th, 2023 by Marc Comments

We have our first look at Renny Harlin’s upcoming The Strangers trilogy.

Based on, or rather, picking up from, the 2008 horror movie, Harlin is planning on staying faithful to the tone and horror of that unexpected gem with his new trilogy.

“When this opportunity came to me, the idea of not doing a remake or a reboot but doing a trilogy based on the original film, I thought it was an incredible opportunity,” Harlin says of his new set of movies, adding that the second and third movie will “explore what happens to the victims of this kind of violence and who the perpetrators are of this kind of violence. Where are they coming from and why?”

You can check out the images above and below and I’d expect to see a trailer in the near future.

Are you a fan of the original movie? If so, are you stoked for this one? Let me know.

Synopsis: From master director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2, The Exorcist: The Beginning) comes a new trilogy of terror. In Chapter I, Madelaine Petsch (TV’s “Riverdale”) stars as a young woman starting a new life with her fiancé. Suddenly, during a road trip stop in a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a mysterious gang of masked strangers who attack without warning or reason. What begins as a fight to stay alive becomes one woman’s journey of courage and cunning in this horror series bridging three compelling films.

Cast: Madelaine Petsch, Froy Gutierrez

Directed by: Renny Harlin

Coming in 2024.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
