Well, we have our first look at the cast of Clerks III and, well, time catches up to us all eventually.
The new movie continues the story he started in Clerks (1994) and then continued in Clerks II (2006) and now, 15 years later, Smith has got the band back together again.
In this case, the band is (L-R) Trevor Fehrman (Elias), Brian O’Halloran( Dante), Rosario Dawson (Becky) and Jeff Anderson (Randall).
Smith has talked about how the new movie will see the gang making a movie after Randall suffers a heart attack, reflecting Smith’s own recent life events (here) and how it will, as a tribute to both previous movies, it will be filmed in colour and black and white.
I’m a big fan of Smith’s early work and Dante and Randall hold a special, identifiable place in my heart, so I’m always happy to spend some more time with them.
The image above from Vanity Fair is a repeat of the first look at Clerks II as you can see below.
In Clerks III, following a massive heart attack, Randal enlists Dante, Elias, Jay and Silent Bob to make a movie immortalizing his life at the convenience store that started it all.
Previously, Smith had said: “Years ago, Dante and Randal made me a filmmaker – so now it’s time I return the favor.”
The movie will also see Clerks and Clerks II stars Jay Mewes (Jay) and Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) return.
