In an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, it appears that Seth Grahame-Smith is in negotiations to direct and write The Flash.

The movie project has a script from Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the duo that brought us The Lego Movie that were also eyeing it as a possible directing vehicle, but were later forced to drop it due to directing the upcoming Star Wars solo anthology film based on Han Solo. Which if you think about it, if you are going to trade a top tier AAA movie for DC…doing a Star Wars film is a pretty good trade off. Just saying.

Flash already has a release date – March 3, 2018 – and an actor who portrays the classic hero known as “the fastest man alive” – Ezra Miller. The interesting thing here is how The Flash movie will be delivered. By that I mean how it’ll try to veer away from the Flash TV show which is returning to the CW for its second season. The show is critically acclaimed and loved by fans, many of whom wish that the movie would tie into the show, and have lead actor Grant Gustin as Flash for both.

Sadly, that’s not happening, which just makes the movie all the more under the microscope.
