Ok, I think I’m the only person on the planet who liked Snow White and the Huntman. So I’m interested to see where this goes…
The Wrap is reporting that The Walking Dead TV creator and director of The Shawshank Redemption, Frank Darabont, is set to direct the sequel to the re-imagined fairytale starring Kristen Stewart and Chris Helmsworth at Universal.
The story is that he beat the competition of Gavin O’Connor, director of Warrior and Andy Muschietti, director of Mama.
However, changing things significantly, “Kristen Stewart is not expected to return… which is expected to emphasize Chris Hemsworth‘s role as the titular Huntsman. Thanks to The Avengers, Hemsworth is a much bigger star since the first film was released in June 2012. Since no script has been finalized, if Stewart does return, her appearance would likely be limited to a cameo or a handful of brief scenes.”
So a title change will be on the cards we imagine. Interestingly, Charlize Theron is expected to reprise her role as the evil queen.
Interesting, huh? No? Ok then…
