From Star Wars to Marvel… is Rogue One’s Ben Mendelsohn set for Captain Marvel villain role?

October 25th, 2017 by Marc Comments

He was a villain in The Dark Knight Rises, he was a villain in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and now, completing the trilogy, he’s set to be a villain in the MCU too.

Yes, Orson Krennic himself, actor Ben Mendelsohn, could be in line to play the leader of the Skrulls when Brie Larson brings’ Captain Marvel to the MCU under the direction of Mississippi Grind’s Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

Very little else is known. Well, I say very little, I actually mean nothing…

As for the movie itself, it will be set in the 1990s and will also see the return of Nick Fury as a pre-eyepatch, CGI de-aged Samuel L Jackson and will  see Captain Marvel fighting the Skree and it could potentially be a game changer as the story will revolve around an alien invasion that will see the Skree replacing people we thought we knew… meaning that, down the line, ANYONE could be a Skrull.

Remember Fury’s line to Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier: “Last time I trusted someone, I lost an eye.”? Well, we’re betting we’ll see just what he meant by that.

But we digress… are you excited for the possibility of Mendelsohn playing a Marvel villain? Let us know…

Captain Marvel is currently set for release in March 2019
