With the anticipation of X-Men: Apocalypse now very real, especially given the fact it recently wrapped filming, it’s easy to forget that the X-Men spin-off film Gambit is also on the way.
Much like the sole Wolverine film, this one focuses solely on a mutant, in this case, Gambit, set to be played by Channing Tatum. Gambit is an on again off again X-Man with the ability to take energy stored into an object and convert it into kinetic energy with explosive results.
This, along with his ability to have almost perfect accuracy, means he can turn even a playing card into a terrifying weapon.
Well, according to Superherohype, Grand Budapest Hotel star Lea Seydoux has been offered the female lead of Bella Donna Boudreaux, “The daughter of the leader of the New Orleans Assassins’ Guild, Bella was Remy LeBeau’s (Gambit’s) first love. LeBeau, a member of the Thieves’ Guild, wound up marrying Bella as part of an arranged ceremony to unite the guilds. Things went bad fast, however, and Gambit was forced to flee New Orleans. Soon thereafter, Bella developed her own mutant ability not entirely dissimilar to Gambit’s. She can create plasma bursts at will.”
Gambit is set for release on 7th of October 2016.
