Ok, before we kick off, EW has released four new images of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and we’re totally in love with her in the role. There, we said it.

The images – above and below – feature Gadot as was as Star Trek’s Chris Pine as love interest Steve Trevor and director Patty Jenkins.

Ok, in other WW news, it seems that previous reports of Jason Fuchs being the writer of the Wonder Woman script have been, well, wrong.

It seems that the writers were in fact Allen Heinberg and Geoff Johns from a story by Zack Snyder and Allen Heinberg.

This is awesome news, especially as Geoff Johns is the CCO of DC Comics and a Wonder Woman expert while Heinberg wrote Wonder Woman at DC in 2006-2007.

Oh and here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

“Wonder Woman” hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2nd, 2017. Are you as excited as we are? Let us know…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
