Godzilla Vs Kong director reveals rating and the promise of carnage

June 5th, 2020 by Marc Comments

It looks like we have an official rating for Godzilla Vs Kong movie and a promise of major chaos.

The movie, which is the latest chapter in the Monsterverse saga, following Godzilla, Kong Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is directed by Adam Wingard, director of the really rather good The Guest and The Blair Witch and he’s taken to Instagram (below) to reveal some exciting details about the movie.

“Godzilla Vs Kong is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of creatue violence/destruction and brief language”

Under this he wrote: “That’s an understatement.”

So we have learned that the movie will indeed be family friendly (just about) and it will feature major Kaiju carnage.

Which is just what the doctor ordered, really.

The monster franchise so far has been good, but never more than that, so this could be Legendary’s last chance to make the franchise something fans really want to come back again and again for –  and let’s be honest, having cinema’s two biggest monsters involved certainly seems like a surefire winner.

Hopefully.

Of course, at this stage we still have no idea how this fight can even happen given that the last time we saw them both in the movies Kong was much, much smaller than Godzilla… but the promo art (above) seems to hint that this will not be the story when the two meet in this movie.

I’m pretty excited for it as  had a fun time with the other movies, but I’m not totally stoked for it.

Oh, and expect a trailer very soon…

Thoughts? I want to hear them.

Legends fight against each other, as Godzilla and Kong, two most powerful forces collide. It’s a spectacular battle for the ages.

As the monarch, Godzilla embarks on his mission into unknown terrain, and he unearths clues to the origin of Titans.

Also, a human conspiracy threatens to destroy creatures, both evil and good, from the earth forever.

Godzilla Vs Kong is scheduled for release on  November 20th, 2020.

That’s an understatement 😉

Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
