Green Lantern Corps will be seen in next year’s Justice League?

So, we know a Green Lantern Corps movie is coming (there’s the logo above, it’s lovely, isn’t it?) but we also know that, while it was originally meant to be a part of the early DC Cinematic Universe alongside Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman, it has now landed a 2020 release date.

After the disaster of the Ryan Reynolds outing, we think this is to give the universe time to become its own thing and also to properly work out how a Green Lantern movie should be handled – it’s a tough sell, in fairness.

However, it seems that we may get a taste of the Corps sooner than expected as we’re hearing rumours that “a member of the Green Lantern Corps will be seen in Justice League in a key sequence.”

Now, this doesn’t make us think we’ll see much of the Corps in Justice League, but we definitely think there could be something to this.

In our mind, we can see it be being something like this:

The League stand victorious as Steppenwolf and the Parademons lie defeated and they begin to celebrate, the world saved… however, a sudden boom and they see a man/creature appear in the sky, covered in a glowing green aura, he tells them not to celebrate yet as he’s been following a god-like creature called Darkseid and he’s heading for earth… fade to black.

You get the idea.

Anyway, nothing is confirmed by Warners but, as we say, we reckon this is likely to be something we see happen.

What say you all?

Justice League hits screens on November 17th, 2017, while Green Lantern Corps is set for July 24th, 2020.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
