Has Samuel L Jackson confirmed Scarlett Witch for Avengers 2?

October 3rd, 2013 by Marc Comments

With Avengers: Age Of Ultron on all our minds – well, it is – rumours are flying around about who’ll appear and who’ll be playing them.

One name we’ve been hearing for a while was Elizabeth Olsen and she’s been attached to the role of Scarlet Witch – Scarlet Witch is the daughter of Magneto in the comics, which could be an issue given that the X-Men movies are not a part of the Avengers movie universe, and she’s the sister of Quicksilver who is being played by Kick-Ass himself, Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

But, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Samuel L Jackson chatted about Avengers 2 and said:

“I don’t think we begin shooting before March of next year.

“I know we’re shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms Olsen.

“But I don’t know what she’s doing; if she’s on the inside or the outside. I haven’t seen a script.”

So, is this confirmation of the character? Well, no… but still… we think it’s a given at this stage.

More as we hear it true believers.

Avengers: Age Of Ultron opens in cinemas on 1 May 2015.
