I’m going to put a spoiler on this story, but let’s be honest, you probably know what this story is about by now…

So, in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Superman died at the hands of Doomsday but, just before the credits rolled, we got the subtle hint of soil rising off the top of his coffin before the fade to black and we were left believing that, despite it all, the hero will be back for Justice League.

And now Henry Cavill, Superman himself, has tease that storyline we all expected.

In the comics when Superman was killed by Doomsday, he returned to life aided by a black Kryptonian suit (above) that restored his body, which wasn’t really dead, but rather in a deep suspended state. When he returned he wore the suit for a period of time, along with a super, em, mullet.

True story.

So going by the picture below, it’s likely we’ll see this happen in the Justice League movie – speaking of which, Justice League got a logo upgrade. (Continues after pic)

Will Batman and Wonder Woman and know about it or perhaps even have helped his rebirth? Will the Krytonian tech that created Doomsday aid his return? Will he be controlled by Darkseid as rumoured a while back? Unknown, but the black suit looks like it’s coming…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
