Henry Cavill indirectly reveals why he is actually the perfect Superman on and off screen

June 29th, 2020 by Marc Comments

Oh man, we really don’t deserve Henry Cavill as Superman, do we?

With all the news recently that Cavill may be returning to the role of Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman (here), the star has been talking about the role, why it’s more than just an acting gig, how he’s always been a fan and how he really hopes he puts the red and blue on again.

“I’ve always been a fan of Superman,” the star says.

“With a character like that, you carry the mantle with you off set. And it becomes a part of your public representation. When you meet children, children don’t necessarily see me as Henry Cavill, but they might see Superman, and there’s a responsibility which comes with that.

children don’t necessarily see me as Henry Cavill, but they might see Superman, and there’s a responsibility which comes with that.

“Because it’s such a wonderful character, it’s actually a responsibility I’m happy to have, and I hope that I get to play more of Superman in years to come.”

Now, tell me that’s not a guy who understands Superman, how important he is and what he represents.

On the Snyder Cut, the actor seems as in the dark as the rest of us and, also like the rest of us, he’s glad Zack Snyder is finally getting to put out the movie he made:

“I can’t really tell you anything aside from the fact that all I know is that HBO Max will be releasing it, I believe, and it’ll be Zack’s final vision for the movie, and I don’t know anything more than that.

“I’m just really happy that Zack got to realise his vision. I think it’s important for a filmmaker and a storyteller to have their intended vision released and shown to the world, and I’m looking forward to seeing it myself. It’s been quite the ordeal.”

He goes on:  “With Justice League when it came, there was a mix of visions and the movie wasn’t well-received. And then over the subsequent years, there was a push to see the fabled Snyder Cut. And now that time has come, and I think it’s going to be very enjoyable to watch Zack finally release his version.”

I, personally can’t wait to see Cavill step up as Superman again. After the Justice League CGI moustache disaster along with the headless Superman at the end of Shazam! I feel it’s time the world got Superman back… don’t we need him now more than ever?

Let me know all your thoughts, gang… I really want to hear them!
