Director Chad Stahelski is still developing his Highlander reboot (which could potentially become a trilogy), and they were already possibly looking at filming the movie in Capetown, South Africa.
A new update suggests Highlander will indeed be Chad’s next film after completing John Wick: Chapter 3.
Things are moving forward after screenwriter Ryan Condal (Rampage, Amazon’s Conan The Barbarian) handed in a script the studio is working with, however it’s not know if it was a complete page-one rewrite or a simple polish incorporating the last couple of drafts. There were a bunch of writers tackling the script previously.
All this means that despite the hype, the Highlander Reboot still has not got a production company or release date and, given the director’s love of Keanu Reeves, it’s possible that he could be the One to take the role of the Highlander; if this does come to pass I can only hope his Scottish accent is better than the English one he did in Bram Stoker’s Dracula; although I think my puppy can do a better English accent than that.
