At a New York press conference for the movie Chappie, Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, was asked bout Wolverine joining the MCU… and things went  a little further than that as Batman got dragged into the conversation too!

Firstly, when asked ig he thinks the X-Men will ever be part of the MCU, Jackman replied: “There’s so many forces at play there man, beyond what anyone would want. The thing I’ve always loved about the comic book world, the fun thing is how a writer of a comic book could just pull all these characters together. What became a Friday night discussion of, ‘Ah, it would be cool to see Batman fight Wolverine.’ Bang! Monday morning, they’re working on it. That’s an idealised world.”

His answer led Chappie director  Neill Blomkamp to ask: “What about Christian Bale’s Batman versus Wolverine? I suppose without some of his technology, you would just cut him up  [but] If he was in the Tumbler it would be a battle.”

Jackman replied: “We can try and stretch the movie out beyond a short, but I’m guessing it’d be a short.”

So, Jackman reckons Batman wouldn’t have a chance, huh? Hmmmmmmmmm… now THERE’S a debate to get your teeth – or claws – into.

He was also asked by MTV if he would like to appear in the Deadpool movie  and he seems up for it: “They are definitely enemies in the comics. They always spark off well together, so I’d be open to that idea.”

Check out his full response where he talks about Deadpool and his friendship with Ryan Reynolds below:
