The news came out last week that Matthew Vaughn wanted a different actor to play Wolverine when he made X-Men: First Class. But it seems, it could be a while before that happens yet…
Speaking with Cigar Aficionado, Wolverine himself, Hugh Jackman, said that Wolverine is a role he loves so much that he has no intention of ever quitting it: “Every time I play Wolverine I want to go further, physically and emotionally.”
“I said to my wife, ‘The moral is that I should never stop playing Wolverine. I’ve got to find a way to keep playing him until I die.’ I know that someday they’ll recast the role with another actor… I’d be happy if the role was eventually recast. It would mean that it had become iconic.”
Do you think that Jackman has another few years playing the character? Don’t forget that Old Man Logan is a thing so, conceivably, he could have many, many years in the role yet….
