We reported a few short days ago (here) that Lucasfilm/Disney were looking to cast a young Lando Calrissian for the Han Solo movie and immediately people started speculating on who might get the gig.
One name, possibly because of his casting in Spider-man: Homecoming, that kept coming up was that of Community and The Martian star Donald Glover – we’ve done a nice little photoshop mock-up above to help get you there.
Now, of course this is all speculative at the minute, but we’d feel like we were missing out if we didn’t have some fun with it.
“Glover seems like a good choice – he’s both funny and smooth, and he’s serious enough to be a real action star. Most crucially I think he would play the role without just doing an imitation of Billy Dee Williams, or some kind of silly riff on the character,” goes the report of at BMD.
Truthfully we reckon we’ll see an unknown actor getting the gig – be honest, did anyone really know who Alden Ehrenreich was before he was cast as Han Solo? – but we love Glover and would like to see him in the Star Wars universe, especially as someone as important as Lando Calrissian.
Just as there’s no replacing Harrison Ford, there’s no replacing Billy Dee Williams either, so we just hope to get a good actor to continue the legacy.
Now, altogether now Community fans, “Han and Lando in the morning!”
