So many have been wondering (especially now that we’re ONLY one year away from Batman v Superman) why Batman and Superman fight in their upcoming movie. Some have speculated that Superman doesn’t approve of Batman, some have thought that Batman wants Superman to take responsibility for what happened in Man of Steel. And some have suggested things totally different.
Now though, a person who claims to have read the script for Batman v Superman says that a third-party is the reason they fight. That third-party being…Lex Luthor.
“In Batman v Superman Superman is no lackey of the government; if anything many of the world’s governments distrust the guy. But it is Superman who goes to Gotham and starts the confrontation… at the behest of Lex Luthor. And unlike The Dark Knight Returns, Superman comes out swinging, pulverizing the Batmobile with one punch. Why would Superman do Lex Luthor’s bidding? What is Lex hoping to accomplish? That would be spoiling. But know that when the fight is over, Batman will be able to point to Superman and say, “He started it!”
Now, obviously this isn’t confirmed as of yet. But…IF this were true…it would be interesting. Remember, in Man of Steel, Superman did not meet Lex Luthor. Luthor could see (*cough* DOES see *cough*) both Superman and Batman as a threat to his new vision of of the world, a world possibly without superheroes. So…he might whisper a few words to Superman to get him to go to Gotham. After things “work out” between Batman and Superman, this will make Lex Superman’s biggest enemy. You know, if it plays out like that.
