Is Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Huntress next in line for a HBO Max DCEU movie?

Now that it has been confirmed that Jurnee Smollett is returning to the DCEU as Black Canary (here), the role she brought to life in the Birds of Prey movie, we were thinking this can’t be the only character we see returning.

We didn’t care much for the movie, truth be told, but we did love Black Canary and we also thought Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Helena Bertinelli AKA Huntress was great too, if criminally underused.

But now it seems, if the newest rumour is to be believed, that she is next in line for the spinoff treatment from HBO Max.

While very little is known right now, word on the street is that HBO Warners are planning to flesh out their massive itinerary of DC shows/movies with Winstead’s character returning.

If true, this is great news and we have little doubt that this will be part of the bigger story with Black Canary too. As we did with the Canary story, we’re pondering if this means we may see Margot Robbie’s Harley and other characters appear from time to time.

While DC movies tend to leave certain corners of the audience cold, there’s no denying that HBO Max are dedicated to the comics and the great stories and characters therein… I can’t wait to see where this all goes down the line and just how large the DCEU can now become on both large and small screens.
