Is there more to Harrison Ford’s Star Wars injury than we’re being told?

June 16th, 2014 by Marc Comments

So, it’s been well publicised that Han Solo himself, the great Harrison Ford, had an accident last Thursday while filming Star Wars Episode VII (here) with the official story being he had hurt his ankle, while others reported his ankle was broken.

However, could there be something more to the story?

Enter the FTN conspiracy corner…

Lucasfilm have already said they will have “good news” soon about Ford’s injury, but there is much speculation that the good news could be a while away yet.

Our man Chris Seekell over at Star Wars Underworld has been reporting on some of these rumours, starting with Perez Hilton, which reports they were told the following by a source close to the movie: “We were told he had some pelvic injuries and may have had a chest X-ray. There’s talk his ankle is actually broken. And he may still be in the hospital. Everyone was thankful nothing hit Harrison’s head. It’s not known when he’ll be ready to start filming again.

“The cast is livid. They are openly questioning the safety of sets. They’ve asked for everything to be triple-checked.”

The Sun Newspaper – yes, we know it’s completely untrustworthy too – have reported that Ford has Pelvic injuries too.

However, just today, bringing more petrol for the fire, The Telegraph are reporting that ” [Harrison] Ford’s son, Ben, has now told Yahoo news that his father may need a plate and screws put into his ankle.”

Meanwhile, Lucasfilm have released a statement saying “shooting will continue as planned while [Ford] recuperates”.

However, Ben has speculated that until his father fully recovers, it may affect the filming schedule of the JJ Abrams-directed film, with the crew shooting Ford from the waist up until he recovers fully. This, according to some reports, could take six to eight weeks…

With rumours of x-rays and pelvic damage, could the story be bigger than we feared or is this all media hyperbole? Either way, we hope Ford recovers soon.

He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife.
