At a panel at SDCC earlier today, Wesley Snipes was chatting about his relationship with Marvel… and especially a daywalker; a superhero with the vampires’ skills but none of their weaknesses. He was talking about Blade.

And more importantly, the possibility go Blade getting a fourth outing as part of the MCU: “The project is controlled by Marvel and we did have a really productive and a wonderful meeting and we discussed a number of things.

“I don’t know where it’s on their schedule at this point, that hasn’t been decided. I guess it’s still up in the air.”

This is not the first time we’ve heard this rumour, with Snipes attached to the role again as recently as last August (here).

We’d love to see him return and establish Blade in the MCU Marvel Knights along with Daredevil, Punisher, Ghost Rider and the likes.

The actor, however, isn’t limiting himself to just returning to Marvel to play Blade: “I’ve always been a fan of these pieces and adaptations and I’d be nice to be a part of the family  again. But if we don’t to a Blade 4 or something else with Marvel, we’ll do something else.

“We have some other characters and some other concepts that are going to be just as exciting and hopefully just as successful.”

What other character would you like Snipes to play? Or is he the only choice for Blade? Let us know your thoughts, gang…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
