Superman v Batman has wrapped up production, so now the long (LONG!) wait for the movie to come out can begin. And the slow leak of details for the movie can come as well.

First up? Alfred! Played by the amazing Jeremy Irons in this movie. It was a surprise to many that Alfred would be included in this film, which led to the obvious question of what role he would play. Well, Mr. Irons has happily let loose details on his take on the famous caretaker to Batman.

“He is quite a different Alfred than we have seen so far. Zack Snyder had very clear views about what he wanted… I would just say he’s more hands-on perhaps than just a butler.”

Now, people who know Alfred (as in his comic book counterpart) know that he is way more than just a butler. He’s a competent fight, skilled with firearms, has medical training, and depending on which version you call your favorite, a former operator within British Intelligence. If Irons is to be believed, we’ll be seeing more of his comic book form than ever before.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
