Of all the tight-lipped secrets that’s going down on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the appearance and importance of Lex Luthor is closely guarded.
Literally all we truly know is that actor Jesse Eisenberg will play him. Outside of that? We don’t have much. We also don’t know how much Lex Luthor will figure into the larger DC movie slate. There’s been rumors of him appearing in Suicide Squad in some capacity, but that’s not confirmed as of yet.
The more logical answer would be that Luthor would appear in the true Man of Steel sequel, which is rumored to be in the works. Eisenberg spoke about possibly returning as the supervillain.
“I would love to. It’s a great group and director, and the most ideal character to play.”
Interesting, now whether he’s actually been approached about such a thing, or has already signed a multi-picture deal, is unknown. However, if Batman v Superman is a success, and Eisenbergs take on Luthor is well received, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine him returning in some capacity.
