Big news for the upcoming 50th anniversary Doctor Who episode today folks
It has been leaked that John Hurt will actually be playing the Doctor in the upcoming 50th anniversary Doctor Who special.
Some have speculated about this for months since the release of the photos of him in costume (above) which seems to be an amalgamation of other Doctor’s outfits.
Hurt himself said it to the Eastern Daily Press during a visit to the Sheringham Little Theatre. He says his Doctor will form a trinity with the tenth and eleventh versions which is integral to the plot. This has led to speculation that his Doctor will be from the Time War which could have generated alternate versions of the Doctor or a combination of other Doctor’s incarnations just as the Valeyard was in Trial of a Time Lord.
However, will this go down well with fans given Paul McGann and other classic Doctors are apparently being left out?
Time will tell but excitement is definitely on the up.
