Another month, another Ghostbusters III rumour… and this one is good. And bad. In equal measure.
According the guys at Schmoesknow, they have a very reliable source who has confirmed that Bill Murray will not be in the movie and that Jonah Hill and Emma Stone (pictured below) will both be in the third – and eagerly anticipated – movie in the franchise.
Oh god, seriously? Hill… I’ve had nightmares about him, Ben Still and Will Ferrel being anywhere near this. But I like Stone as an actress and can see her as a feisty female phantom hunter. Anyway, where were we? Oh yes…
According the source, the actor and actress have been offered the roles of Jeremy and Anna.
Now who exactly these characters are remains a mystery; could they be kids of the original GBs? (Where’s Oscar?) Or are they new characters along the lines of Kylie and the gang in Extreme Ghostbusters or, em, Kylie and the gang in IDW’s New Ghostbusters?
Who knows; all we do know is that this is still in the land of rumour and nothing is set in stone but if it is true and casting is starting, we can expect a big announcement from Sony for the original movie’s 30th anniversary next summer.
