Honestly, we weren’t even sure if the third Sherlock Holmes movie with Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law as Watson was happening as it hadn’t been mentioned in a long time… but yes, it’s gearing up as I type.
Speaking about the movie, Law was able to drop some details on what we can expect to see in the franchise’s third outing: “We hope to propel the story forward.
“As always, the essence of the story is their codependency. We’re going to examine — since it’s been several years since we’ve seen them — we’re going to play up the fact that they haven’t seen each other for a long time either.”
There’s no word on wether or not director Guy Ritchie will be back as he’s currently working on Disney’s live-action Aladdin and with Law and Downey Jr both deep in their own franchises (Fantastic Beasts and Iron Man respectively) it’s hard to know if the movie will hit the previously touted Christmas 2020 release date.
But when it comes to the world’s foremost detective you should never rule him out.
Oh, and it seems Robert Downey Jr is getting ready too as the game is, indeed, afoot again:
