Warner’s latest animated DC offering Justice League: Gods & Monsters is scheduled for release next month, and to whet our appetites they’ve got some extras planned.

This coming Monday, 8 June, Warners are releasing Gods & Monsters Chronicles online, three seven-minute shorts serving as prequels to the movie. The shorts are executive produced by Bruce Timm and co-produced by Alan Burnett, both of Batman: The Animated Series fame.

Gods & Monsters was announced in September 2014, promising fans “a newly conceived reality in the DC Universe where Justice League members Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are much darker versions of the Super Heroes that people think they know: “In this world, Superman is the son of General Zod, Wonder Woman is from the war-like nation of Ares rather than Themiscera and Batman is Kirk Langstrom, a scientist who turned himself into some sort of vampire while trying to find a cure for cancer. Looks very promising, with DC already planning comics and action figures inspired by the movie and Warners anticipating a second series of shorts.”

But Kevin Conroy’s not in it. We need more Kevin Conroy as Batman. It’s an undeniable law of the universe. Fact.

The death ray is currently in the works and one day you shall all bow to him, his giant space station and fleet of funky orange space shuttles...
