More casting news today to get fans excited (or not) for the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower directed by Nikolaj Arcel

It’s been announced on news site Variety that Katheryn Winnick famous for her role on the History Channel’s ‘Vikings’ series has signed on for an as-yet-unnamed role in the series.
While fans are speculating as to who she might play Sony has chosen to remain mum on her character. She will join Idris Elba who will play main hero Roland Deschain and stars Matthew McConaughey as the main villain, The Man in Black.
They may be joined by Watchmen’s Jackie Earle Haley who is in negotiations to play Richard Sayre, a menacing humanoid who is the vampire leader and kowtows to no one.”
This character appears in the fifth book, The Wolves of the Calla, so it’s clear that some serious mixing up of the story is happeing.
The road from page to screen for King’s magnum opus has been wrought with problems and numerous false starts however it appears that this time could be the charm. Filming is well underway and the film is set for release on February 17, 2017.
Who do you think Winnick will portray? Sound off in the comments!
