With the upcoming release of Tremors 5: Bloodlines, and the original movie turning 25 years old (what?! – Ed), it’s having a small sort of renaissance.
Star of the first movie, Kevin Bacon, was at the Montreal premiere of his latest movie, Cop Car, at the Fantasia Film Festival, and the subject of the giant earthworms came up and Bacon was more than up for chatting about them.
One member of the audience asked if, with the anniversary this year, there were any plans to getting the original cast together and maybe doing a sixth movie together and, surprisingly, Bacon seems to hint that there IS something in the works: “I can’t address it directly,” the actor teased…
“But I would say that this is the only character that I’ve played [Valentine McKee], that I would like to see what happens to that guy, 25 years later”.
Holy crap! With Ghostbusters and Big Trouble in Little China both being remade, it would be awesome if Tremors broke the trend and did a sequel, we’d pay good money to see that.
I always considered Ghostbusters, Tremors and Big Trouble in Little China as my unofficial creature-feature trilogy of choice. The idea of a sequel with Kevin Bacon back? Well, that just floats my boat… perhaps a little too much.
What about you all?
