We’re starting to feel like a Marve news outlet, but still, the news is the news…
Kevin Feige, the main man at Marvel, has been doing a lot of press for Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Slashfilm has gathered the best news that he has leaked on the Avengers sequel (so far)
Feige promises that Hawkeye and Hulk, who have been absent from Phase II so far, will feature heavily in the sequel as they still haven’t had standalone outings.
He said that he couldn’t comment on Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulson and if he’ll appear in the movie “for any number of reasons”. He also confirmed that Anthony Mackie’s Falcon won’t be appearing.
Despite the shock pregnancy of Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson, Feige insists no rewrites were necessary (although Anthony Mackie has said rewrites are being undertaken by Joss Whedon, though he didn’t know why), just a reshuffling of filming times. He also wouldn’t really comment on Paul Bettany playing The Vision: “I don’t think we’ve officially said anything. But other people said things.”
Feige confirms Scarlett Johansson’s pregnancy did NOT lead to any rewrites of the script, but some of the film’s schedule has been shifted around. Despite those comments, Anthony Mackie says he’d heard that Joss Whedon is doing rewrites of some sort.
