We’ll soon return to the world of Harry Potter via a trilogy of movies focusing on one the world’s most famous authors, Newt Scamander. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will follow Newt on an adventure that’ll feature magic and beasts galore, but he won’t be there alone.
Sources report that frontrunners for key characters have been named.
Saoirse Ronan (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Hanna), Dakota Fanning (“The Twilight Saga”), Lili Simmons (“Banshee,” “True Detective”) and Alison Sudol (“Dig,” “Transparent”) are in contention for the role of Tina, with Kate Upton (The Other Woman), Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice) and Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby) up for the role Tina’s older sister, Queenie. It’s unclear what role these characters will play in the film at this time.
Meanwhile, the role of Jacob, the rival to the lead character Newt Scamander, including Steve Zissis (Her), Zack Pearlman (The Virginity Hit) and Dan Fogler (Fanboys).
So it looks to be a full cast, we’ll have to see who else might be cast, or what other characters will be introduced as time goes on.
The first movie in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy will release on November 18, 2016, and will be written by Harry Potter author J.K Rowling herself.
