King Shark and others to join Suicide Squad sequel?

March 7th, 2019 by Marc Comments

We reported earlier today that it looks like Idris Elba is set to step in to the role of Deadshot in James Gunn’s Suicide Squad sequel, replacing Will Smith.

He will be joining Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and Amanda Waller will once again be played Viola Davis – at this stage anyway. On top of that Koel Kinnaman will not be back as Rick Flagg.

So, from this we can gleam that it will most likely be a mostly new team of misfits filling out the new Squad.

A new report claims to have the scopp on who the squad will be comprised of and it’s a really interesting line-up.

So who (might) will fill out the roster?

Here’s the word on the Nerdsphere:

Ratcatcher, aka Otis Flannegan:
a man in the DC comics, the character will be gender-swapped and played by a woman in The Suicide Squad. Ratcatcher is a super-criminal and one of Batman’s many enemies. She started out as an exterminator in Gotham City before turning to a life of crime, aided by an army of small rodents she can communicate with and control.
She’s also a fan of poisonous gas.

Nanaue aka King Shark:
A super-villain and humanoid shark whose father is believed to be the so-called Shark God, though others dismiss him as merely a savage mutation.

Polka-Dot Man aka Mister Polka Dot:
A Gotham City super-villain and like Ratcatcher, a sworn enemy of Batman. He grows multi-colored polka dots on his body that he can turn into fireballs and other weapons, even though, for the most part, he’s embarrassed about his awkward abilities.

Peacemaker aka Christopher Smith:
An agent of peace whose motives are driven by an extremist form of pacifism that makes him love peace so much he would kill for it.

Now, there’s nothing so far to support any of this, but apparently Gunn wants Dave Bautista for the role of Peacemaker – and, let’s be honest, after his comments when Gunn was fired by Disney, it’s unlikely he’ll be back for Guardians Vol 3 as Drax.

So there you have it; if this IS true. we love the line-up and would love to see King Shark on the big screen – the Flash TV series has proven that he can work in live-action, so it would be great to see him with the Squad in the DC Cinematic Universe.

What do you all think about the line-up? Would it work for you? We love the idea of the team being almost unknown characters as it means all bets are off for who lives or dies.

Thoughts?
