Joss Whedon continues his weird speaking out against Marvel in the latest podcast from Empire Magazine.

On the show, speaking about Avengers: Age Of Ultron, the director revealed that he wanted to add Spider-man and Captain Marvel to the already bloated line-up – it’s interesting to note that, at various times, both WERE rumoured to be in the movie.

Apparently Whedon wanted them both to debut in the movie but wasn’t able to or as he puts it himself: “I would have put both [Spider-Man and Captain Marvel] in, but neither of the deals were made. And then they were like, ‘We’re making a Captain Marvel movie and we’ve got ‘Spider-Man’ as a property,’ and I’m like, ‘I’ve already locked my film you f#@kers! Thanks for nothing.”

He talks about it at the 26 minute mark below and beware, it’s NSFW.

Would you have liked to see them both appear in AoU? We can’t imagine they’d have been given much time to breathe but still… it would have been pretty exciting

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
