Live-Action Gundam Film In The Works Via Legendary

July 15th, 2018 by Todd Black Comments

During Anime Expo last week, Legendary Pictures took to the stage to announce that they were making a live-action Gundam series. Gundam is a legendary name in and of itself, and so for it to get the live-action treatment after decades of popular animes and video games is quite a treat.

There are pretty much no details on how it’ll be made, whether it’ll be an original story, or follow the stories of one of the animes. Personally, I would love to see Gundam Wing made into a film series, but that might be too much to ask.

This isn’t the first time that an anime has been given the live-action treatment. Attack on Titan, Full Metal Alchemist, and even Bleach has gotten the treatment, and with mixed results. Ironically, Gundam could work due to its more mechanical and space-based style. But we’ll have to see.
