This was not news I was expecting but it’s news I’m certainly very excited for!
It’s just been announced that Paramount have big plans for the Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles and it’s well beyond the Mutant Mayhem sequel and spinoff series on the horizon.
SDCC 2023: PREVIEW: IDW brings us Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin II: Re-Evolution
Yes, get ready for it, because we’re getting a new live-action TMNT movie and it’ll be based on the hit IDW comic series The Last Ronin and it’ll reportedly be R-Rated!
The movie will be written by Child’s Play (2019) and Boy Kills World’s Tyler Burton Smith and will be produced through Walter Hamada’s 18hz Productions.
The Last Ronin has had a prequel and a sequel series and is set for a video game in the near future too.
In a future, battle-ravaged New York City, a lone surviving Turtle embarks on a seemingly hopeless mission seeking justice for the family he lost. From legendary TMNT co-creators Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, get ready for the final story of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles three decades in the making!
This is very exciting stuff and the mind boggles with possibilities… now, if they brought back Elias Koteas from the original live-action movie as the older Casey Jones, this could be the stuff of legend.
Thoughts? I wanna hear them, Nerds and Nerdettes.
