Looks like Bryan Singer is bringing The Blob back for X-Men: Apocalypse

August 18th, 2015 by Marc Comments

It looks like a familiar enemy of the X-Men is returning for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse…

The Blob, AKA Fred J Dukes, who was played in X-Men: Origins – Wolverine by Kevin Durand, is apparently making his BIG return.

Instagram user Benjamin Malartre Bureau, was on a four-day set tour of the movie, posted an image after he returned from the set with a few details (below). He also said that the character will be played by an unnamed 540-pound local man, so we’re assuming his role will probably be a cameo only..

It’s cool that he’s back though and it makes us wonder what other treats Singer has in store for us.

Arriving in theaters on May 27, 2016, Apocalypse is set in 1983 and finds the mutants, including Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Magneto (Michael Fassbender), and Charles (James McAvoy), taking sides as the godlike Apocalypse plots world destruction.

X-Men: Apocalypse is set for release on May 27, 2016.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
