Marvel look at replacements for Edgar Wright in Ant-man director’s chair

May 30th, 2014 by Marc Comments

With the Marvel movie-verse still trying to recover from the departure of Edgar Writer, it looks like they are rushing to get a replacement for him so they can still reach the July 17th 2015 release date…

So who is in the running?

The Hollywood Reporter have three frontrunners – although until we hear for sure we’ll still count it as rumour for now – but if there is truth in these it certainly gives us some idea of the direction they are going in.

First up is Rawson Marshall Thurber, director of We’re The Millers and Dodgeball. Next up is Adam McKay, director of the Anchorman movies and the final choice – and one we like – is Ruben Fleischer, director of Zombieland and Gangster Squad.

So it seems that Marvel are keen to keep a fun/comedy angle to the movie. What do you think of these chooses? Let us know in the usual ways guys…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
