These recent leaks of Sony’s emails have been giving fanboys of many genres a lot to talk about. Not the least of which was the confirmation that Sony and Marvel were in talks to let Spider-Man come under the Marvel Studios banner. Now while they may or may not be going on still is anyone’s guess, but if they’re not, we may have found a sticking point as to why not.

Aside from not wanting Andrew Garfield to don the costume once under the Marvel banner, another huge deal point was the removal of Avi Arad from all parts of the film. Arad actually founded Marvel Studios back in the day, and subsequently did numerous superhero movies as a producer for Marvel, Fox, and of course Sony for Spider-Man. However, if Spider-Man was to come to Marvel, they don’t want Arad to be a part of it.

This apparently was a huge sticking point with Sony and Marvel, as soon actually wanted Arad to be involved with the Spider-Man films if they moved over.

Now, as for how Spider-Man would’ve entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the leak states that there would’ve been a post-credits sequence teasing the arrival of Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War.

Where things go from here is anyone’s guess, but we’ll keep you up to date on whatever pops up!
