Matt Reeves reveals first look at Batman AND the Batmobile from upcoming The Batman

Now this is a pretty exciting set of images.

After the official Batman suit reveal a few weeks back (here) and then all the leaked stuff (here), we figured it was only a matter of time before we got another batch of exciting images and last night we got just that as The Batman writer and director Matt Reeves revealed the full suit and the very cool Batmobile:

The car is a souped up muscle car and while it’s not exactly in the same vein as the cars we’re more familiar to seeing in the movies, it’s actually very faithful to what we know from the Batman and Detective comics in the 70s and 80s, before the Batmobile became a mobile tank, it was represented as a sleek, sexy, black racing car and that’s exactly what we’re seeing here.

Paired with Robert Pattinson’s Batman whose suit looks very homemade, right down to all the pouches and what look almost like combat trousers, I’m really liking the approach and would put money on it that this won’t be the suit – or car – throughout the movie, with it all likely getting an upgrade at some point.

But I want to hear your thoughts, gang; do you like the ca or would you prefer another Batman ’89 or Tumbler approach? I want to know…

Here’s the other two images:

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
