So, 22 years after we last saw Riggs and Murtaugh (Mel Gibson and Danny Glover), it seems that the gang is getting back together again.
Anyone who follows us here at FTN will know we’ve been following this for a while (here) and now the ball seems to be well and truly rolling.
Speaking on Good Morning America, star Gibson said Lethal Weapon 5 is “absolutely on the way” and series director Richard Donner is working on it “right now”.
Word is that the film’s working title is Lethal Finale, according to Donner and, as we reported in January, producer Dan Lin said “Dick Donner’s coming back. The original cast is coming back. And it’s just amazing. The story itself is very personal to him. Mel and Danny are ready to go, so it’s about the script.”
There’s no word on when the movie might see light of day, but just knowing two of cinema’s greatest icons are coming back to our screens is good enough. For now.
