The word around the internet for the last few weeks was that DC really wanted to get a female director for their upcoming superhero movie about the one and only Wonder Woman. After some searching and negotiations, they got their woman.

Michelle MacLaren, known best for her works on Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, and The Walking Dead, has agreed to both develop and direct the film according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is set to release in 2017, with Charles Roven, Zack Snyder, and Deborah Snyder serving as producers for the film. The Wonder Woman is highly anticipated, especially with confirmation (and picture proof) that she will appear in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Her solo movie felt like a no-brainer, yet many were curious to see if DC would commit. Well they have, and now the solo film for the Amazon Princess seems truly set for release.
