Mike Myers’ new Netflix series is a ‘So, I Married An Axe Murderer’ spinoff. Well, sort of.

So, we’ve all been waiting to see if and when Mike Myers, star of Wayne’s World, Shrek and the Austin Powers movies, would be making a come back as he’s been quite quiet recently and it seems that he’s finally making a return to our screens… this time with Netflix.

The streamer revealed on Twitter that the star would be appearing in a limited series called The Pentavorate.

The series will be about a secret society that has been controlling the world since 1347 and the best part? It’s a prequel/spin-off to his best movie (yeah, I said it!), So, I Married An Axe Murderer.

Well, sort of. But probably not really.

If you remember that movie, you’ll recall that Myers played the lead character Charlie as well as his (brilliant) Scottish Father who, in one scene (below), spoke about The Pentavorate and how they controlled the world and the media:

The Pentavorate, according to Charlie’s father, is made up of the Queen, the Vatican, the Gettys, the Rothchilds and… Colonel Saunders of KFC fame. The scene is hilarious and it’s kind of great that this new series is a companion piece to this movie.

Christ, I’m such a nerd.

According to the Netflix reveal, below, Myers will play seven brand new characters in the series “about a secret society who have been working to influence world events since 1347”.  If you know any of Myers’ previous work, you’ll know he is no stranger to multiple roles in a single movie.

The cast too is impressive with Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders and Lydia West all appearing.

Personally, I’m hoping for Myers’ grand return and hopefully, this will be it. Are you excited for the series? Let me know your thoughts…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
