MINI STAR WARS NEWS ROUND-UP: Close-up shots from Star Wars Episode VII set, new radar dish on the Falcon and big Clone Wars news coming

September 22nd, 2014 by Marc Comments

Remember all the shots from Greenham Common (here)? Well, Spanish website 20minutos have managed to grab some nice up-close shots which give us a look at some finer details of the ships and base itself…

Check those out below – it’s worth noting too that our friends at The Star Wars Underworld noticed that it seems the Falcon is being deconstructed; could this mean filming there is done?

Check out the pics below. But before you do, let us draw your attention to this image which popped up on the IGN Forums and seems to show that the Millenium Falcon has now got a square Radar Dish…

If you remember, the Falcon lost its original dish in the strike against the second Death Star (it happens around the 6:00 mark below). Could Han have replaced it with a square one? Looks likely…

Staying with The Star Wars Underworld, they are also reporting that there’s a BIG Clone Wars announcement coming later this week: “If you are a Star Wars: The Clone Wars fan and have access to the hub of all things Star Wars, StarWars.com, then you NEED to be watching the official site VERY closely this week for something so cool it could melt the ice off a Hoth mountain top.”

No word on what the news is, but we’d have to guess it’s the release of the final season of CLone Wars on DVD & Bluray.

Anyway… on to the pictures…

Star Wars Episode VII is due out on 18 December 2015.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
