Get ready for the new daily show

Mortal Kombat animated movie in the works at Warner Bros Animation?

January 11th, 2019 by Marc Comments

Rumour time again, folks…

It looks like we might be getting an animated Mortal Kombat movie according to RTF.

They write: Warner Bros. purchased Midway back in 2009 (and renamed it NetherRealm), making them the new owners of all things Mortal Kombat. With that, they were able to reboot and relaunch the game series in 2011 through WB Interactive Entertainment. Having Warner Bros. as its new parent also paved the way for Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, which provided a path for the Injustice games.

Now it looks like, taking another step forward, WB Animation is taking a stab (snigger) at Mortal Kombat.

And it looks like they have some interesting actors onboard for the show.

The biggest name is Joel McHale, star of Community and The X-Files, McHale is one of those actors who is constantly flirting with greatness but never quite gets there. He’s tipped to be playing Johnny Storm.

Next up is Dexter star Jennifer Carpenter who was great as Dexter’s sister, Debra. She’s apparently likely to be Sonia Blade in the movie.

Additionally the cast includes:

Darin DePaul, Fred Tatasciore, Grey Griffin, Ike Amadi, Kevin Michael Richardson, Patrick Seitz, Robin Atkin Downes, Steve Blum and Jordan Rodrigues.

Who they are all playing is up in the air for now but if we hear more, we’ll let you all know.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
