Movie news round-up: Ted 2, Amazing Spider-man 3, Fantastic Four, Dumb and Dumber To and CZ12

October 3rd, 2013 by Marc Comments

Quite a few bits have hit in the last days that didn’t quite warrant a full post, so here, making a triumphant return, is the Movie News Round-up…

Ted 2
First up, Seth McFarlane will be returning as everyone’s favourite bear, Ted, in Ted 2 on June 26, 2015… it will join the likes of Jurassic World, Star Wars Episode VII and Avengers: Age of Ultron. So far McFarlane and Mark Wahlberg are confirmed to return but not Mila Kunis. Seriously, I think I’m going to just camp out at the cinema that summer…

Amazing Spider-man 3

I make no secret of my love for Amazing Spider-man and I’m excited for the second one hitting on May 2nd, 2014 and, providing they can keep up the quality, I’m excited for part three.

Sony has confirmed that Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Jeff Pinker, who wrote part two, will also pen the third. No word on director of the first two, Marc Webb’s, return yet; Andrew Garfield is expected to return as Peter Parker/Spidey. Sony have pencilled Part three for June 10, 2016 and Part four for May 4, 2018.

Fantastic Four reboot

With Chronicle director Josh Trank confirmed to direct and Matthew Vaughn set to produce, it looks like Simon Kinberg will be writing and producing the Fantastic Four reboot. Kinberg has worked on the last three X-Men movies, including Days Of Future Past, but not the Wolverine spin-offs, so he’s familiar with the universe. He also – shhhhhhh, don’t tell anyone as it was uncredited – worked on the 2005 FF movie. But, still…

Dumb and Dumber To

Excited for the sequel to Dumb and Dumber? Well how about a (brief) clip of Jeff Daniels as Harry Dunne in 2013? Ok, here you go…

CZ12

Jackie Chan’s new movie CZ12 has a trailer. And a plot about stolen statue heads or something. I don’t really care. Actually, interestingly it’s also written and directed by Chan and he plays the same character he played in the Armour of God movies. The trailer is mental. It opens on October 18th. Watch it here…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
