Oooof!

Those of you looking forward to heading to galaxy far, far away soon or hanging with a bunch of blue people… or even if you were just looking forward to Mulan, well, I have bad news, I’m afraid.

It looks like that damned virus has scared Disney who have extended their movie delays well into the future.

First up, James Cameron’s Avatar sequels will now premiere every other December with Avatar 2 arriving on December 16th, 2022, Avatar 3 set for 20th December, 2024, Avatar 4 on December 18th, 2026 and finally, Avatar 5 will arrive on December 22nd, 2028.

On top of that, the next three Star Wars movies are now scheduled for December 22nd, 2023, then December 19th, 2025 and finally December 17th, 2027.

And at least, we have relese dates for those… Mulan – whic was set to hit cinemas on August 21st, has been pulled from their schedule completely.

The New Mutants, as we reported earlier,  is still set to release on August 28th.

So there you go, Avatar, Mulan and Star Wars fans, it looks like time is not our friend on this one.

UPDATED:

More movies have been pushed back too.

Looks like Sony has pushed back the third MCU Spider-man movie too from November 5th, 2021 to December 17th, 2021.

Added to this, A Quiet Place 2 leaves Labor Day weekend for April 23rd, 2021 and Top Gun: Maverick will no longer be a Christmas gift as it moves from December 25th to July 2nd, 2021.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
