Nathan Fillion reveals most awesome image ever from his Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 deleted scene

April 20th, 2017 by Marc Comments

A little under a year ago we reported on Nathan Fillion’s role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 (here) and at the time we declared it as genius!

He was spotted (sort of) on set at the time as Simon Willimans AKA Wonder Man. By the way, this means that Fillion, despite not really appearing as one, is a superhero in the MCU. Which is pretty cool.

Who?

Well, in the Marvel Comics Universe, Simon Williams was a former member of the Masters of Evil, a villainous stable opposed to the Avengers, he later reformed and joined the Avengers as a fully fledged member. He eventually retired from the Avengers to pursue an acting career but always remained as an active reserve member.

So the original reports from the set were of movie posters on set featuring Fillion as Willimans – in one poster he was actually playing Tony Stark!

But now the actor himself has shared an image (below) on his Instagram page of a deleted scene from Guardians Vol 2 where he’s dressed as a Barbarian as he appears in a movie – within the movie – called Arkon in which he plays a space-faring Barbarian.

Anyway, here’s the image and, as much as we love this, can we please get Fillion in a main role in a Marvel (or DC) movie please!?

From a scene you won’t see in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Is the movie still spectacular without it? Yes.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
