New Batman Vs Superman news? Or just more rumours?

January 22nd, 2014 by Marc Comments

With the Batman Vs Superman movie having been postponed, fans are getting feverish for news and it looks like a few more tidbits may have just broken, but please keep them filed under the ‘rumour’ banner for now…

Website Comic Book Movie is claiming to have answers to some of these questions…

they are reporting that:

– Joaquin Phoenix is still  favorite to play Lex Luthor and the role has been offered to him but he has yet to reach a decision.

– Henry Cavill will have shorter hair and the ‘Superman curl’ on his forehead. Apparently it will be similar to the character’s look in Kingdom Come (below) but without the grey.

– Ben Affleck’s injury, was NOT the reason the movie has been postponed and was merely a musculature rib injury, it isn’t severe. He’ll be back to full power by April and all his scenes will be done by a stunt-double between now and then as he can’t perform certain movements in the suit.

– As for the delay? Well there are a few things quoted, including  budgetary reasons due to a visit to Wonder Woman’s home, Themyscira, that will need massive effects… and money.

–  Batman Vs. Superman and The Justice League movie aren’t confirmed as shooting back-to-back yet, but it is on the table apparently.

– There will be a cliffhanger ending that will set up the next movie. This will be DC’s answer to Marvel’s after-credits scenes; cliffhangers will always set up the next movie.

– We may see short movies that will concentrate on lesser known characters and these may play in cinemas after the main movie.

So there you have it… what do you all think? The real deal or more rumour madness? I guess we’ll all know in sumer 2016.

Meanwhile let us know your thoughts…

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
