New details and images from Wonder Woman emerge…

April 2nd, 2017 by Marc Comments

At Wonder Con this weekend DC/Warners brought their Wonder Woman game and revealed some great new details on the movie as well as the DC Cinematic Universe in general.

Firstly, before we go further, it is clear at this point that a Wonder Woman sequel is not in the works – probably with DC working on so many other projects including Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, Batgirl, Suicide Squad 2, Man of Steel 2 and more – not to mention that Wonder Woman hasn’t been released yet, President and Chief Creative Officer at DC Comics, Geoff Johns said: “I can’t confirm that.”

Probably as a response to the constant reporting that the DC movies are far too serious and dark, Johns also said that what they need is “heart, humor, and heroics” and they will be fine.

And he also said that Wonder Woman is the greatest fighter in the DC Universe:

Twitter user @amazonheroicon has grabbed lots of footage from the panel and we’ve posted it below, including why the fight scenes are important, how great Steve Trevor is as a character and why Wonder Woman is such a unique character. Check them out below.

On top of this, Warner Brothers has added new stills from Wonder Woman featuring Diana Prince with Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen) Steve Trevor while (Chris Pine), Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff and Elena Anaya as Doctor Poison.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui.

Wonder Woman will be in theaters June 2, 2017.

Marc is a self-confessed nerd. Ever since seeing Star Wars for the first time around 1979 he’s been an unapologetic fan of the Wars and still believes, with Clone Wars and now Underworld, we are yet to see the best Star Wars. He’s a dad of two who now doesn’t have the time (or money) to collect the amount of toys, comics, movies and books he once did, much to the relief of his long-suffering wife. In the real world he’s a graphic designer. He started Following the Nerd because he was tired of searching a million sites every day for all the best news that he loves and decided to create one place where you can go to get the whole lot. Secretly he longs to be sitting in the cockpit of his YT-1300 Corellian Transport ship with his co-pilot Chewie, roaming the universe, waiting for his next big adventure, but feels just at home watching cartoons with his kids….
